5 easy yoga asanas that will revolutionise your beauty routine


Ever wonder where that "yoga-glow" was coming from? Well, it's certainly a result of using makeup or skin creams! Yoga can be a fabulous way of becoming, and staying, beautiful. These simple exercises target each part of the face--from getting rid of pesky pimples to keeping wrinkles away. This yoga sequence is the final word in your beauty routine.

1. Cupping--Get rid of dark circles

- Cupping is a simple and easy way of getting rid of dark circles. You can do it anywhere at any time.

- Rub your hands together, generating heat in your palms and then place the base of your palms on your eyes. Stay like that and breath. Hold for 30 seconds.

2. Kapala randhraa dhauti

- Place your thumbs on your temples. Take two or three fingers and make circles around your eyes, starting from your eyebrows to under your eyes. Move in one direction only.

Now move to your forehead, and create brush strokes on your forehead in gentle but swift motions.

- Concentrate and breathe in deeply while doing this.

3. For sagging chin/jowls

- Inhale and turn your head to the right. Exhale and lift your chin up, and pucker your lips, pulling the skin of your neck up.

- Come back to centre.

- Inhale and do the same on the other side.

4.Kapala bhati

This is a fantastic way of getting that "yoga-glow".

- Sit in a comfortable meditation posture. The head and spine should be straight, with the hands resting on the knees in either chin or jnana mudra.

- Exhale through both the nostrils with a forceful contraction of the abdominal muscles. The inhalation should take place passively by allowing the abdominal muscles to relax. Inhalation should be spontaneous.

- Continue doing this in a rhythmic fashion.

5. Sasang asana

This is a great asana for circulation--by bringing the blood to the head, you are promoting rejuvenation and regeneration of the facial skin. This asana also help stabilise hormones--like the thyroid gland which helps in prevention of acne.
